Stewardship - Trinity Sunday - 2008

My dear people

I greet you on this Trinity Sunday, praying that God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit will fill you with life, hope and courage for your life’s journey.

On this weekend, I would like to formally launch our Year of Stewardship which I believe is a personal call to each one of us to welcome God’s gifts, to develop them and to use them to support one another.

Stewardship offers a new focus on what it means to be a disciple of Jesus, to take Him as a role model, and to find happiness and fulfilment in living for others.  The surest way to a miserable life is to live just for one’s self;  the surest way to experience real peace, is to offer our lives in service to all.

As this year unfolds, I hope that the joy of sharing our treasures for God and with others, will emerge.  I ask you to pray the Stewardship Prayer each day at midday and to accept this weekend, a simple brochure outlining a little further the value of Stewardship in our own lives, as it draws us closer to the Lord.

God bless you with peace and may we find in a world of confused values, the light of Christ and the power of the Spirit.

Yours sincerely
